Adam Collard has shut down a troll who suggested he’d had a part in the nasty injuries suffered by girlfriend Laura Woods.

The former Love Island star, 28, has been dating the 36-year-old sports presenter since October last year.

Last week Laura revealed she wouldn’t be able to cover Tyson Fury’s fight with Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia on Saturday after requiring emergency surgery.

Sharing photos of her gruesome injuries on social media, she explained how a glass lampshade shattered above her and the glass cut her face and arms, narrowly missing her eyes.

However, a few days on, Adam has responded after some on social media made shocking allegations that he had somehow been involved.

After one X user shared an article and photos of Laura’s injuries, the account tagged Adam and wrote: ‘I know what you are.’

Not accepting what had been alleged, he fired back.

‘Shut up you stupid c*** and read her Instagram post,’ he posted.

In her post on social media, Woods said the incident happened as she swung a pillow at a holiday cottage.

‘Just wanted to explain my absence from the telly for a little while, to be totally transparent and avoid any speculation,’ she wrote.

‘I had an accident last weekend at a holiday cottage. I swung a pillow and hit a large, glass lampshade hanging from the ceiling above me, which shattered and cut my face and arms, but luckily missed my eye.

‘I wanted to say a couple of thank yous, firstly to Adam, for being my hero that day, acting so quickly and not leaving my side since and to his family for taking care of me in a time when I was petrified.’

She went on to thank her agents, who ‘searched for the best help immediately’, as well as a doctor and his medical assistant who opened their emergency surgery and helped care for her.

‘I’ve added in the photos from then to now to show that even though it may look rough, it’s such a wonderful improvement already and I’m so grateful,’ she said.

‘It was a hell of a shock and I’ve been a bit sad, but I’m feeling very lucky it wasn’t worse. So a big thanks to my eyebrow too, for taking the brunt of it.’

Last year Adam, who also appeared on Celebs Go Dating, revealed he first slid into Laura’s DMs first but left her on read after she replied.

But their romance eventually kicked off after meeting in person, with Adam saying he would ‘never get in a relationship with someone at least at one point [unless] I thought they were The One’.
